Monday March 9, 2020 Governor JB Pritzker declared a state of emergency based on new guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and evidence emerging across other countries and throughout the United States.

As a result, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department on Aging has issued the immediate suspension of all congregate dining as well as all social activities conducted in group settings.

Our Congregate Dining Program and all Senior Center activities, trips, and seminars have been suspended until further notice. However, York Township and The DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) will continue to monitor and work with our local Health Department as they implement the coordinated State and National response to COVID-19.

The DuPage Senior Citizens Council’s Meals on Wheels, Well-Being Checks, Friendly Visits, Minor Home Repairs, Pet Care & Food Assistance all provided by the DSCC will also continue at this time.

We ask that if you or someone you know is sick, especially with the symptoms displayed by COVID-19, please stay home and help keep this virus under control. Make sure you cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, try to clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

You can direct any questions regarding Meals on Wheels or congregate dining to the DSCC at 630-620-0804 for any additional questions please see the York Township numbers listed below by department.

We deeply care about the residents of York Township and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your health is important to us and we want to make sure that all necessary steps are taken to help ensure you all stay healthy so we can resume our normal activities as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

CHANGES TO YOUR RECYCLING PROGRAM

Welcome

America's richest blessing is her people. They are the real strength in her grass roots, and that is what township government is all about. It is often described as "the last bastion of true democracy".

Township government is the oldest form of government in our country; yet it is probably the one people are most unfamiliar with. It is a pleasure for me to have this opportunity to introduce you to current township government and outline our many fine services.

Township services touch the lives of most of our residents. We are small, accessible, responsive, and cost effective claiming less than one and one-half percent of the entire real estate tax bill.

Please take the opportunity to browse through this web site and become better informed about what we do to serve you.
